acid stain floor 2

We had the privilege to renovate a basement floor in this residential home. The customers had previously installed hardwood floors to their finished basement.  Unfortunately, water damage had ruined the hardwoods. When the customers came to us for ideas on how to make their existing concrete floors come to life, we knew we had the answer! Acid staining is an affordable, clean and beautiful way to finish a concrete basement floor. As shown in the pictures below the customers chose a coffee brown stain color. There are many different color options for the acid stains.

We started off by cleaning the existing floors and covering the surrounding walls in the basement to protect them from the acid. We then applied the acid stain to the floor, and returned the following day. Next we cleaned the floors and naturalized the acid.  Then we applied two coats of sealer to the floors. Finally we wax the floors to give them a brilliant and protected finish.
